Some delectable baubles from Manipur born designer Mawi's heritage collection. Thang-Mawi was born in India and raised all around the world. Having honed her skills at Isaac Mizrahi in New York, Bill Amberg and Vita Couture in London, she launched her own line in 2002. Since then her groundbreaking collections have gone from strength to strength. Her much copied look combining tusks, pearls and cluster of vintage charms on bracelets and pendants have become fashion classics.

Natasha Preenja
I've featured Delhi based artist Natasha Preenja here before & promised to showcase more of her work . Natasha is working on some very exciting projects and has just sent in a couple of her pieces from her latest collection. The paintings are so beautifully rendered one would think they're vector illustrations but they're actually acrylic on canvas. Can't wait to see more from the Goddess series.
Well Paper
These products are an environmentally friendly handicraft, rolled woven and pulped by the women of Well Paper, using recycled materials such as newspapers. Rina Banerjee
Rina Banerjee had sent in images of a couple of her works from her current exhibition at The Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art that I've taken forever to post . Banerjee currently lives & works in NYC . Her works explore specific colonial moments that reinvent place and identity as complex diasporic experiences, their aesthetic and cultural beginnings suggest in particular how the many regional culture affects continue to stain our perceptions of home, the exotic, the foreign and domestic worlds. Her exhibition will be on display through the 25th of May.
